Recently I came across an Arab breeder thinking that the deceased stallion, *PGN Prizim [Shah Azim x PGN Yours Truley]
was the only producing “Bey Shah” descendant left in South Africa. This is really not true.
After a prudent investigation, I happen to find several Arabian horses imported to South Africa that
is either direct descendants, grand-children or great-grandchildren of this internationally renowned Arabian stallion.
The first horse that came to my mind is the recent imported mare, *Tai Bey Brittney [Bey
Shah x Tanzeers Valentine]. In 2006
she gave birth to the foal champion, FS Magnum’s Madonna (by Magnum Psyche)
who was imported in Uterus to South Africa, by Tinus & Francisca Strydom of Strydom stud. FS Magnum Madonna was consequently then sold and exported recently to Belgium.
Then we had EL Nahr HCF [Sterling Bey x Salonia HCF], whose sire is another direct Bey Shah son. El Nahr HCF sired quite a few champion Arabian offspring among them is the 2008/2007 National Champion
Western Pleasure riding horse, Shanghai Ballerina [El Nahr HCF x *BW Balana], to name only one.
Other descendants of Bey Shah
are the two imports from Haras Mayed stud in Argentina. They are the stallion,
*JJ Magnum’s Supreme and his sister, *JJ La Suprema. Both were sired by
Magnum Psyche but they’re linked to Bey Shah through their dam, Bey Sashay CY [Bey Shah x FFA Kolamity].
Then of course we have the ever popular stallion, *BHF Sting [Padrons Psyche x Bey Serenade SF] who’s dam is
also a daughter of Bey Shah. This amazing grey stallion produced quite a lot
of champion offspring, too many to mention here.
Furthermore I came upon *Magical CAF [Magic Dream x *Marshah], whose dam, Marshah [Bey Shah x Mars Baskianne], was
imported by Mr. Ian Smith and son, of Xian Arabians. The Smith family also imported
two of her other sons, *Pstyle X [Magnum Psyche x *Marshah] and *Heir to Odyssey [Odyssey SC x *Marshah].
Another grand-daughter to Bey Shah is the not so well-known near-black
mare, *SW Kaluha [RSD Dark Victory x THA Bay Tinna], who is owned
by Mr. Hennie Kuit of Camilla Arabian stud. Her sire, RSD Dark Victory is a direct
son of Bey Shah too. She promises to produce some lovely offspring for her owners
here.
While busy with grand-daughters, I also came across the 2003 National Reserve Champion Country Pleasure horse, *Cherries
Zimbalee [Shah Azim x Mystic Heirloom], whose sire is also a son of Bey Shah. In
addition she completed a few endurance rides too.
Then of course we have *Bey El Jamaal, who is a grandson of Bey Shah too, through his dam, TW Bey Fantasy [Bey Shah
x Gioiella]. She is the originator of the “B” family at Haras Meia
Lua stud in Brazil. She produced
excellent sons and daughters for her owners there. *Bey El Jamaal is busy to
and already produced some astonishing offspring at the Johrhemar stud, where he is now residing
*Belvedere PSY [Padrons Psyche x WA Marlaina Lee] is also a grandson of Bey Shah. His dam is a daughter of Bey Shah and her get have won 10 US National Championship titles respectively. He is standing at El Jamani
stud of Mr. L.J. Buys & son, where he is breeding some beautiful offspring on their very famous well-bred broodmares.
Another champion Bey Shah Descendant is the magnificent grey 18 year old stallion, GH Venture
[Bey Shah x QF Nobelesse], whose son, *JMF En-V was SA National Champion colt in 2007, out of a Magic Dream daughter. He is also owned by Xian Arabians, together with his paternal halfbrother, XA Fames
Venture.
Some other Bey Shah descendants here were the deceased mare, *DJ Infatuation [Echo Magnifico x BQ Déjà vu] whose dam
is also a Bey Shah daughter and together with the aforementioned stallion *PGN Prizim [Shah Azim x PGN Yours Truley] they
produced the recently deceased champion stallion, Rasheeq El Azeem [PGN Prizim x DJ Infatuation] who was owned by Jacques
& the late, Mart Mostert and family, from Rasheeq Arabians in Bethlehem. This
stallion was therefore a proudly South African bred, double Bey Shah great grandson and left quite an astonishing group of
offspring in South Africa to keep his legacy alive...
Then last but not least I found another direct son of Bey Shah, namely *Olympicc Dream [Bey
Shah x Melbas Minuet], standing at BBB Arabian stud, in Viljoenskroon of late Swarts Botha, where he produced some offspring
with numerous different Arab broodmares.
This is only to name but a few of
the descendants Bey Shah have in South Africa. I did not even look at the 4th level of the generations in which this renowned stallion can be present
here. I can therefore confirm that Bey Shah’s descendants are very well
accessible here in the Southern tip of Africa.
